Critical Fuel Infrastructure & Composite Access Covers

SOVATZOGLOU S.A. cooperates strategically with KPS Piping Systems and Fibrelite, integrating conductive HDPE fuel piping and engineered composite access covers into fuel systems, underground infrastructure, energy installations, data centers and other mission-critical facilities.

These solutions are selected where electrostatic safety, secondary containment, corrosion resistance, safe access and long-term operational reliability are critical design requirements.

KPS Piping Systems

Conductive HDPE Piping for Fuel Systems

KPS provides engineered HDPE piping systems for the safe transfer of petrol, diesel, Jet A-1, ethanol blends and other compatible fluids.

For fuel-transfer applications, a key KPS advantage is its conductive piping system. The conductive inner liner, when the system is correctly bonded and earthed, safely dissipates electrostatic charges generated by fuel flow and prevents their dangerous accumulation.

KPS conductive piping systems:

  • Incorporate a conductive inner liner and dedicated conductivity connectors and transition fittings, allowing electrical continuity and earthing.
  • Prevent the build-up of static electricity and reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge in fuel applications.
  • Are available in single- and double-wall secondary-containment configurations, with interstitial monitoring for leak detection.
  • Are liquid-tight, corrosion-free and lightweight, with an effective fuel-permeation barrier.
  • Are suitable for above- and below-ground installations, pressure and suction systems, remote filling and fuel supply to generator sets and data center backup-power systems.

Compared with conventional metallic pipework, KPS conductive HDPE piping combines electrostatic safety with low weight, corrosion resistance and fast electrofusion installation.

Fibrelite

Lightweight Composite Access Covers for Underground Infrastructure

Fibrelite manufactures engineered GRP composite manhole and trench covers for safe and reliable access to underground infrastructure. Covers are available in both conductive and non-conductive versions, allowing the appropriate configuration to be selected according to the application and risk assessment.

Fibrelite composite covers:

  • Are available in fully conductive and non-conductive versions.
  • In their fully conductive version, incorporate metalised fibre to provide electrical continuity across the cover surface and allow electrostatic charges to be safely dissipated to ground.
  • Combine low weight and ergonomic handling with load ratings from B125 to F900 in accordance with EN 124.
  • Are corrosion-resistant, watertight and highly resistant to underground gases and most chemicals.
  • Are available in a wide range of sizes, shapes, colours and project-specific configurations.

In fuel installations and other potentially explosive environments, the conductive version provides an important safety benefit by controlling static electricity. In applications where electrical insulation is required, the non-conductive version may be selected.
